THE MEKONG ELEPHANT PARK

A Non-riding Elephant Preservation Sanctuary in Pakbeng, Laos.

Designed as a pilot project for the ecotourism industry, the Mekong Elephant Park demonstrates the founders’ aim of promoting sustainable tourism and supporting a threatened species as urbanization and the abuses they are confronted with threatens its survival. This project combines: 

  • An environmental purpose: preserving a threatened species.
  • An economic and social ambition: suggesting alternatives for the mahouts and their families;
  • A touristic aim conceived and planned in order to respect the two aspects above

THE MEKONG EDEN FARM

ASEV Travel invites travellers to meet Om at the Mekong Eden Farm, a young Laotian biologist trained and passionate about plants and agriculture. Accompanied by his assistant and newly international eco-volunteers, Om has re-created since less than a year, 40 minutes away from Luang Prabang, a small Eden along the Mekong on which he cultivates a bio experimental garden in the wild and sensitizes a village community around the good practices of organic farming but also eco-tourism.

We support this young and promising 100% Laotian social entrepreneurship project by suggesting a unique immersive tour of Luang Prabang. In the company of his very young team guests may participate either in:

  • A replanting session of rice or vegetables
  • Vegetable picking
